Patriotic Pool Cleaning — July 6, 2017 (9am – 3pm)!!!!

At this great place called Barton Springs Pool,
deep water flows so clear and so cool,
but to keep the pool clean,
we need volunteer teams
to brush broom the city’s crown jewel!Hell Yes AGBG FBSB Cleaning

Every first Thursday, Friends of Barton Springs Pool hosts three two-hour shifts, starting at 9:00, 11:00 and 1:00, so please join us this next Thursday (July 6) for a refreshing day of volunteer work to keep Barton Springs Pool the best that it can be. All volunteers are welcome to push-broom the pool bottom clean while we sing our happy tune as we help to put a shine on our jewel of Austin, Barton Springs Pool.

CANCELLED Springs Cleaning – March 4, 2017 – Message from Steve Barnick

With apologies for the last minute notice, today’s Spring Cleaning is cancelled due to inclement weather.  The weather forecast is for cool temps and (more importantly) a high chance of rain all day on Saturday.  With these conditions and the resultant likelihood of possible flooding at the pool, we’re calling this one off.  Let’s plan on reconvening at our next regular first Thursday (April 6).  Details to follow.

Thanks to all for your understanding, and thanks also to Tacodeli for their sponsorship and support of the Spring Cleaning.  Hopefully, we can reschedule the taco feast!

March 5 Spring Cleaning at Barton Springs

Barton Springs! Spring Cleaning!! This Saturday!!! March 5!!!! Sign up at Austin Parks Foundation’s event page for a shift!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In order to fully and officially participate with the “It’s My Park Day” festivities provided by Austin Parks Foundation’s as a city-wide volunteer event, we are asking each volunteer to please register (or re-register, if you have already registered) by clicking here (https://austinparks.givepulse.com/event/16468-Barton-Springs-Pool-Spring-Cleaning) so that you can request a t-shirt and electronically sign the liability form.

We apologize for the extra step if you’ve already registered with our VolunteerSpot link, but we want to fully coordinate with It’s My Park Day since this is Austin Parks Foundation’s largest city-wide volunteer event with thousands of volunteers coming together on one day to work on hundreds of improvement projects in parks and greenbelts throughout the city. The volunteer labor on this single day represents an investment of over a quarter of a million dollars for Austin’s parks!

Thanks again for volunteering for this weekend’s workday and for helping Friends of Barton Springs Pool contribute to the largest It’s My Park Day event in history! Together we will not only improve our beloved Barton Springs, but parks across the city.
